Children's Programs

Welcome to the Center for Gifted Education's Webpage!

The Center for Gifted Education provides unique opportunities for high-ability students to attend enrichment programs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the surrounding University of Louisiana at Lafayette locations. The programs enable students to explore specialized topics not typically studied in the regular classroom.  Students must qualify for admission to the Programs presented by the Center for Gifted Education. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade not identified and enrolled in a Gifted and Talented program will qualify for admission via parent and teacher checklists. Students in 6th grade, and above, will qualify via a score review of a standardized test.

Please enjoy this article on How to Build Self Advocacy Skills in Young Children from The Understood.com.

Our screening window is Closed. Please call 337-482-6701 or email gifted@louisiana.edu with any questions.

We are looking forward to the future. We are working on creating Pop-up Programs for the PreK through 2nd graders, 3rd through 6th graders, and rising into the 7th through 10th grades.

Please check back on our website and our Facebook page for updated information.
