Our Screening Window is Open.

We do not require Gifted and Talented identification to participate in our Fall and Spring programs.

We do require admission to the Center for Gifred Education to participate in the Summer Programs presented by the Center for Gifted Education.

The Center for Gifted Education provides unique opportunities for high-ability students to attend enrichment programs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the surrounding University of Louisiana at Lafayette locations. The programs enable students to explore specialized topics not typically studied in the regular classroom.  Students must qualify for admission to the Programs presented by the Center for Gifted Education. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade not identified and enrolled in a Gifted and Talented program will qualify for admission via parent and teacher checklists. Students in 6th grade, and above, will qualify via a score review of a standardized test.

Admission

Beginning in Fall 2018 ALL new students seeking to participate in the Center for Gifted Education’s Summer Programs must submit a one-time, non-refundable, $25.00 application fee. 

Returning Students:

Students previously accepted into the Center for Gifted Education programs have the status of Returning Students.

There will be a class fee per student.

New Students

Students must qualify for admission to the Center for Gifted Education’s Summer Programs.

Beginning in Fall 2018 ALL new students seeking to participate in the Center for Gifted Education’s Summer Programs must submit a one-time, non-refundable, $25.00 application fee.

Upon submission of the application fee the parent will receive the parent checklist and we will send a teacher checklist to the teacher listed in the application. The application fee will cover the review of the parent, and teacher checklist.

Dr. Bruce-Davis will determine student qualification for participation after a review of the checklists.

Older students (5th grade and above) who are in NOT in a Parish GT Program will require a score review to determine admission.

New students who are in a Parish GT Program must submit a one-time, non-refundable, $25.00 application fee. Students must also submit the 1st page of their most recent IEP, or the Welcome letter from the Gifted and Talented Program. GT Program students do not need to submit scores for review.
