INFORMATION ABOUT FUTURE INNOVATORS UNITE CAMP

GRADES: Students rising into the 7th through 10th grades (ages 12 to 15 yrs. old) in the Fall of 2024.
DATE: July 8 – 12, 2024
LOCATION: Maxim D. Doucet Hall, 1401 Johnston St. Lafayette, LA  70503
CAMP TIMES: 8:00am - 5:00pm
DROP OFF TIME: 8:00am - 8:45am
LUNCH IS PROVIDED- Lunch is 12:00PM-1:00PM Student Union
PICK-UP TIME: 4:00 pm to 5:00 P.M.

During this program students will work within the framework of Destination Imagination® in teams collaboratively to analyze information, and to think critically to synthesize solutions to the Destination Imagination challenges.

Our Spring 2024 Screening Window is now open for new participants seeking mandatory qualification for admission to our Summer Programs.

Admission

Returning Students

Students previously accepted into the Center for Gifted Education programs have the status of Returning students.

There will be a class fee per student.

New Students

Students must qualify for admission to the Center for Gifted Education’s Summer Programs.

Beginning in Fall 2018 ALL new students seeking to participate in the Center for Gifted Education’s Summer Programs must submit a one-time $25.00 non-refundable application fee. Upon submission of the application fee the parent will receive the parent checklist and we will send the teacher checklist to the teacher listed in the application. The application fee will cover the review of the parent, and teacher checklist.

After review of the checklists, all non-identified students who are going to move into the score review phase will also pay a one-time $25.00 Score Review fee.

Older students (5th grade and above) who are in NOT in a Parish GT Program will require a score review to determine admission.

New students who are in a Parish GT Program must submit a one-time, non-refundable, $25.00 application fee. Students must also submit the 1st page of their most recent IEP, or the Welcome letter from the Gifted and Talented Program. GT Program students do not need to submit scores for review.
